Nokia Lumia 530 Review
Smartphones like Moto E, Asus Zenfone 4, Xiaomi Redmi 1S changed the trend of budget smartphones. A lot of manufacturers are launching budget smartphones as people prefer to buy affordable smartphones as compared to the high end devices. Microsoft has also brought a budget smartphone which competes directly with smartphones like Moto E, Zenfone 4 and many other. Nokia Lumia 530 is a dual sim smartphone launched by Microsoft and falls under the category of budget smartphones.
Design and Display
Nokia is always known for the great designs they use in their Lumia devices. The design of Nokia Lumia 530 is great and the structure of the device is made up of plastic yet it does not feel cheap when you are holding the device in your hands. You might feel Lumia 530 a little chunky as the device is 11.7 mm and weighs 129 grams. The device also comes in a matte white variant which is little slippery and might be difficult to hold at times. Lumia 530 comes with a 4.0-inch display screen. The display will deliver resolution of 480 X 854 pixels. The display of the Lumia 530 is surrounded by the medium sized borders. Instead of capacitive buttons you will get on-screen buttons on the device.
Hardware
Coming to the hardware of the Nokia Lumia 530 you will get a QUALCOMM Snapdragon 200 processor running on the device. The processor in Lumia 530 is same as that of the one which you will get in Motorola Moto E. The device comes with a quad core processor which is clocked at 1.2 Ghz. You will get Adreno 302 as the GPU in the device which will deliver moderate performance while you are playing games on your device. One downside which you will find In the Lumia 530 is the Ram. You will only get 512 MB RAM in the device. There are many applications and games in Windows Phone store which support 512 MB Ram but we think that Microsoft should have provided at least 1 GB Ram in the device as most of the devices which are coming in budget smartphones category come with 1 GB Ram.
The device comes with only 4 GB as the internal storage out of which you will get 1 GB for using. You can also add an external micro SD card to the device as Lumia 530 supports micro SD card of storage space up to 64 GB. Lumia 530 is a dual sim smartphone which allows you to use two sim cards at once. You can use both the sim cards to connect to your favorite 3G networks.
Camera
Coming to the camera of the device you will get a 5 mega pixel rear shooter. There is no flash with the rear camera so you won’t get good picture quality when you are taking pictures in the dark, however you will get good detailed pictures during the day time. Nokia has used fixed focus in the camera of the Lumia 530 instead of auto focus. The camera is not good for taking close shots because of the fixed focus you get with the rear camera of the Lumia 530. The rear camera is only capable of recording videos in 480 p which is a low point of this device as other devices of the same segment are able to capture videos in 720p and 1080p HD. There is no front camera in the device, so you won’t be able to take selfies and make video calls using the front facing camera.
Operating System
Nokia Lumia 530 comes running on Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. With Windows Phone 8.1 you will get a lot of new features to use on the device. You also get the Denim update which brings the latest features on your Lumia 530 smartphone. Some of the apps which you will get pre-installed on your Lumia 530 are Battery saver, Wi-Fi sense, data sense and storage sense.
